Terms and Conditions

By staying on site, the Camper agrees to abide by these Terms and Conditions. The Visitor Services Team (VST) reserves the right to remove campers (and their visitors, if applicable) from site should any of these Terms and Conditions be breached.

The Canal Centre aims to provide a secure site for its visitors so a barrier is used to restrict access to the campsite. When you arrive, please bring along with you a form of ID. You will be given codes for the automated barrier, toilet/shower facilities and bin store along with a permit for the campsite.

Non-UK Residents must provide a Passport as proof of identity.

Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. The first night of your stay (first two nights on a bank holiday) is non-refundable. Any cancellations within 7 days of arrival will result in the full loss of your payment.

Please note that the VST reserve the right to cancel the booking, in which case a full refund will be offered. Refunds will only be offered if the VST close the site for reasons beyond its control.

Anyone wishing to extend their stay must pay at the time of their extension. Failure to pay will result in your property being removed off-site and you accept all losses and damages to your property when being removed. The VST reserve the right to decline an extension.

Early departures will not be refunded.

All campers must be booked in and must display the camping permit allocated for their current stay. Permits must be displayed on the camping unit on site and must be visibile at all times. Failure to do so will result in removal off site.

Campers must depart by 12pm on day of departure. Anyone needing to stay on site beyond this time will need permission from a member of staff as it may result in the camper being charged an additional night.

The codes or key(s) allocated to you must NOT be passed on to any other members of public or other campers. Should the codes be issued to unauthorised site users then you have breached the Terms and Conditions and will be instructed to vacate the site.

A £15 refundable security deposit is required for the gate key. The deposit will be refunded once the key has been returned on the day of departure. Access through the gate is for key holders only.

Antisocial behaviour or loud noise will result in a £30 fine and exclusion from the Campsite. The Camper will also cover any additional damages.

Groups under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult of 25yrs+ for the duration of the stay.

There must be a six-metre gap between all camping units and vehicles.

CAMPFIRE, FIRE PITS, BONFIRES and DISPOSABLE BBQ’S are not permitted. Freestanding BBQ’s and cooking appliances (charcoal or gas only -not wood) that are raised off the ground are allowed, as long as no damage is caused to the grass. Any hot ash must be cooled down before putting into the dedicated ash bins provided.

Only quiet generators may be used between 9am and 9pm; Music must be turned down by 9pm; No noise between 10.30pm and 8am.

Sky Lanterns are strictly prohibited.

Dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times on the campsite and around the Visitor Centre.

Gazebos are not to be used as accommodation.

Any tents used for storage or separately from sleeping will be charged the tent rate and one adult per night.

All litter is to be cleared away (in sealed bags) and disposed of in the bin store.

The toilets are closed for cleaning in the morning. Times may vary. You may be asked to vacate the toilets whilst they are being cleaned.

The keypad for the toilet is in use when the Centre is closed and is for authorised users only who will have been issued the code. The toilets are available for all visitors during Centre opening hours.

For the benefit of security and safety, under 16’s are to be escorted by a responsible adult when using onsite facilities at all times.

Visitors to campers are welcome but must depart the site by 7pm.

The VST accepts no responsibility or any liability for person(s) and/or their property brought onto these premises. All losses or damages shall be the responsibility of the camper.
